A self-taught guitarist, Ed
Coffey began playing and singing at the age of five. Born in Rochester,
NY, he and his family moved to the Southern-tier of New York when he was
thirteen years old and also lived in Canadice, NY. Ed's greatest inspiration comes from his parents, Bud
and Yvonne. His music draws from his own experiences and those of the people
closest to him.
Brought up listening to Hank Senior, Chet Atkins, Roy Clark,
Loretta Lynn and Johnny Cash. He started writing his own
material in his teens and has developed his own style of playing, writing,
and singing. His deep soulful voice gives his music heart and soul. The
songs and music he's crafted make a true connection with his audience.
Over the years Ed has been in a number of different bands including The
Ed Coffey Band, Angels And Outlaws, Cimarron, Moore
Coffey Band, Stryker, Hazy Daze and Wild Nik West. He's
performed for many charity concerts and has played in
clubs a crossed the USA and Canada, also appeared on TV and radio
station programs.
He currently has 4 CD's now
available. His newest acoustic CD "Promise I Can Take Away The Blues"
recorded 2004 at
Flatwood Studio and produced by Tabby Crabb. And two CD's that he produced and recorded "A
Cowboys Blue Night" and "Charmaine". An his
other acoustic CD "Show
Me The Way Back Home" also recorded at
Flatwood Studio just east of
Nashville, TN and produced by Tabby Crabb.
Ed Coffey combines country,
western, and rock & roll, rhythm and blues to create a real sound and style
you will never forget. He has made his home in Nashville, TN and often takes
his music on the road for all to enjoy his musical poetry world. For
