Urban Cowboy - Paramount Pictures Starring John Travolta and others. This is the film that ultimately got me into the band at Gilley's Club during that big ticket era of country music. The complete story of how I was able to pull this off in Music - River Of Life, my musical autobiography. The Night Porter Wagoner Came To Town - Tabby Crabb We shot this on 16mm in 1986. Richie Albright, Waylon's producer and Greg Kane produced the music track for me and Rick Sanjek produced the film version of this original video. As a music video, it received extensive play on CMT finishing that year in the Top 10 videos on Country Music Televison and Shotgun Red and Shelly Mangum featured it on The Nashville Network. It's recently been up scaled to digital video and re-edited dropping some of the more controversial scenes. Speck Rhodes and Buck Trent, two of the regulars from Porter's television show and road band came out and performed in the video making this a true classic now that Speck is no longer with us and it can't be that long for Porter either. Town Of Fewer People - Freddy Lovvorn Freddy's producer brought me a combination of 35mm stock footage, Beta SP footage and I shot 16mm film footage and matched them all up for this country video from Alabama artist Freddy Lovvorn. America - Jim Williams Jim came out with Judy Wright as her co-writer and ended up cutting a cd of his original music .This video is a composite of patriotic themed stills and digital video of Jim in various locations performing for the camera. Wailing Wall - Gypsy Carns What can I say about my pal Gypsy. He is one of the greatest people I've ever known. I totally admire his dedication, persistence, talent and loyalty. This video is a composite of some stuff we pulled off satellite, stills and live studio footage. Music and video with a message. Wailing Wall just placed 2nd at the 2007 Macon (GA) Film and Video Festival. God Don't Never Change - Gypsy Carns Gypsy brought me some footage from his home vhs camera and we cobbled this video together over one of our favorite early street preacher melodies. 12 Rainbows - AZA (Gypsy Carns) Click here to view 12 Rainbows as Windows Media. Gospel Train Coming - Gypsy Carns The day of the 3rd Nashville Folk Festival there was a devistating tornado that hit Hendersonville, TN. We were at Historic Rock Castle state park when the tornado hit and Gypsy and I took his digital video camera up the hill to the old pre civil war cemetery and shot the live footage. Then we enhanced it with super 8 footage from Pulse of Life. Click here to view Gospel Train Coming as Windows Media. Iron Pony Express - Joey Holiday Joey and Vicky Holiday brought me some footage that had been shot by Mark Taylor, a civilian truck driver who was hauling the U.S. Mail to U.S. troops stationed in Iraq recently. Joey recorded a song called, Iron Pony Express, in his studio and we shot digital video and super 8 film at Flatwood and put this music video together. One reviewer with a national trucker magazine said it gave him chills when he saw it. The Tennessee Truck Shows - Truck It Entertainment I've been filiming and video taping this annual event held at The Nashville Fairgrounds each May since it started. A Cowboy's Blue Night - Ed Coffey Ed and I left Nashville and traveled west across Kansas to Denver, then south through The Raton Pass and then east to Nashville stopping and filming along the way. Prime Outlets Shopping Mall Promos - Prime Outlets Prime Outlets came to me with some footage in the can and wanted me to edit a promo piece with voice overs and music for them to show at a big convention at Madison Square Gardens to attract tour bus operators to the Prime Outlet Malls scattered across the United States. The video looked great and was a success. Blackbirds and Blazers - Kevin Pace Feature film shot in Nashville, produced and directed by Kevin Pace. All pro production on 35mm. I had a nice speaking part and my song Outlaw is part of the sound track. It has a lot of folks from the Nashville music community featured. There's now a trailer for the film at http://blackbirdsandblazers.com anticipating its upcoming release to the film festival community. Pulse of Life - Mail box movie International participation. I was one of about 15 cinematographers shooting time lapse on Super 8 film in association with FilmShooting.com.. This Ain't It - Sam Neely I traveled to Corpus Christi and Padre Island, Texas to shoot the video for music artist and close friend, the late and always great Sam Neely for a song he had written about Ernie Starry, a pawn shop operator. Sammy was one of the true giants in folk rock scoring his first top 20 hit in 1972 but never cowtowing to the industry. He was totally burned by Tony Brown when he was the head of MCA Records in Nashville. The story will be in Music - River Of Life, my musical autobiography. Click here to view This Ain't It as Windows Media. Don't Worry - Judy Wright Judy is one of the freshest original Country artists ever, and with a flair for comedy to boot. It was a lot of fun to work with her on this original video with a soundtrack produced at Flatwood Studio by the great Bobby Bradley. I expect to hear a lot more from Judy. Dead Kalm Wes and Jeffrey and I set up an elaborate shooting script based on one of the groups recorded songs. We spent several days filming. This was the most elaborate music video project I've ever taken on. These guys are really fun to work with and easy to get along with to boot. They brought a large cast. A family affair too. Blackberry Jam - Andy May This video was a true labor of love. Andy and I go way back. I was homeless when I met him and he hauled me into a country band with Vermont Tom Hayes and we ended up at a remote farm owned by the manager of The Holy Modal Rounders, one of the most infamous bands of the pre hippy folk era where we were snowed in for three days. I got paid to boot. Sometimes life is a grand experience. Big Sofa & The Lazeboys Promo Video This was a really fun shoot to do. We set up at the main sound stage at SIR in Nashville for two days and did a three camera shoot. Big Sofa is a 20 piece big band orchestra with lots of energy run by John Cheek of Cheekwood fame. Classic jazz and big band horn lines, dinner jackets and a sultry blond singer. American Phenom We traveled to Birmingham, Alabama where I was hired by the producer to shoot and edit a pitch video for his television program concept following the lead set by American Idol. Too bad it wasn't an original idea, however the locations were good so the video came out super and it turned out to be a lot of fun working with them in Birmingham. 7.5 Inch Gauge Railroading Vol. 1 - 4 Way Stop An early on inhouse video production and release (vhs) showing the fun of large scale steam railroading. Cheryl was a real pleasure to work with and a true gentlewoman. Steamboats On The Flint - Country Flyboy In production now. PyroShot, The Helifire Incendiary Cannon - Field Support Services We just got back from Merritt island, Florida where we got to shoot for a day.
